Veepee

Revamping an internal application

Veepee is a dual-side marketplace with on one side the buyers of discounted articles and on the other side the brands that want to sell their supplies left. On this project I worked on revamping two back-end applications and contributing to the design system. I will here present only one of the tool, that was about data control and quality

Analysis of the current tool

After discussion with the product owner, I begin with a analysis of the current tool to find at first sight what might strike the eyes. That done, I do a mapping of the information architecture to get a global view of the data structure

Users interviews

Then I do users interviews to get their feedbacks and impressions on the tool. To be noted to the interviews has been done with another designer

Compilation, priorisation and roadmap preparation

Once I have a list of problems and requirements, I can strive to organise the needs and define what is the priority

Mockups of the POC

I design very basic wireframe of a POC and discuss it with the product owner and the developers

Presenting the first high fidelity designs to the users to get feedbacks

Once agreed on the overall solution, I begin to do more high fidelity design. The main goal is to have a first version that we can present to the users in order to receive their feedbacks

Design time

We got feedbacks from the users thanks to the workshops and surveys we done and they are happy about it ! Time to deep dive on each features

Specifications for the devs

Time to handoff. Even if we work all along with the dev team, but for the definitive handoff we write more precise specification of each elements, for example the typography, spacing, responsive behavior, business logics

Insights I learned on this project

We need to incorporate users at every steps

The goal is to build the right products and to get adhesion from the users, especially when we do an important revamp of their product. So we can do interviews early with them and get their feedbacks on the designs

Priorise the needs

There is a lot that we can do but we need to be able to priorise the requirements and know how to roll out the solution without compromising with the long term vision
